SUMMARY:Founders Coffee: Chris Johnson - Three MistakesI Made Building (and Exiting) a Startup in Winnipeg
DESCRIPTION:Kicking off during MbTech Week\,  Launch Coworking Space will host Founders Coffee\, a weekly gathering designed to foster entrepreneurial community\, connection\, and collaboration. This event will be lead by 360 Coaching Group with coffee from Muse Café. \nChris Johnson – Three Mistakes I Made Building (and Exiting) a Startup in Winnipeg\nTHE TALK \nThree Mistakes I Made Building (and Exiting) a Startup in Winnipeg \nThis is a short coffee conversation about three themes that slowed us down while building a SaaS startup — all things that felt reasonable at the time and only became obvious once the dust settled on the other side of an exit. \nIn ten minutes\, I’ll share a few decisions that weren’t catastrophic\, but in hindsight had us running with one of those weighted vests strapped on without knowing it. The kind of calls founders make every day while trying to be careful\, scrappy\, and “do the right thing\,” without realizing the trade-offs. \nTHE SPEAKER \n Chris Johnson is a repeat enterprise SaaS founder and operator who has led multiple successful exits. He was the Founder and CEO of Permission Click\, a K–12 workflow and forms platform acquired by SchoolMessenger in 2021. Following the acquisition\, Chris became President of SchoolMessenger\, where he led the business through its next phase of growth and operational maturity\, culminating in a $300M acquisition by PowerSchool in 2023. Across these roles\, Chris has built and scaled product-led organizations\, overseen go-to-market transformations\, and navigated the complexities of post-acquisition integration. Beyond operating roles\, Chris is a co-founder of North Forge Technology Exchange and an active supporter of the Manitoba startup ecosystem as a mentor\, advisor\, and early-stage investor. \n  \nABOUT FOUNDERS COFFEE \nBeginning February 24th during Manitoba Tech Week\, our Launch Downtown location will host Founders Coffee\, a weekly Tuesday-morning (8 am to 9 am) gathering designed to foster entrepreneurial community\, connection\, and collaboration. Founders Coffee provides a welcoming space where local entrepreneurs can share their stories\, present their ventures\, and receive meaningful feedback from peers\, mentors\, and community partners. \nEach session features: \n\nA 10 min spotlight presentation from an early-stage founder or small business.\nA guided 20 min Q&A and community feedback discussion.\nOpen Mic & networking (30 min) to help build relationships\, spark ideas\, and support the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.\n\nOur goal is to cultivate a consistent\, inclusive gathering that brings together innovators\, creators\, small-business owners\, and community champions. \nPresented by Futurepreneur\, hosted by Launch Coworking\, lead by 360 Coaching Group\, and fueled by Muse Cafe\, Founders Coffee strengthens the connective tissue of our local business community and helps entrepreneurs access the insight\, encouragement\, and resources they need to grow. \nFounders Coffee will serve as a weekly ritual—a place where relationships are built\, ideas take shape\, and founders feel supported on their journey.

SUMMARY:Dimensions in Testimony with Holocaust Survivors (English)
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to take part in a Dimensions in Testimony experience to learn first-hand how technology can enhance the human experience and change the lens through which we see the world. \nThe Dimensions in Testimony experience enables people to ask questions that prompt real‐time responses from pre‐recorded video interviews with Holocaust survivors and other witnesses to genocide. Developed by USC Shoah Foundation\, and adapted by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights\, the pioneering project integrates advanced filming techniques\, specialized display technologies and next generation natural language processing to create an interactive biography. \nAt the Museum\, the Dimensions in Testimony experience demonstrates how adapted technology can create deep social impact\, While the Canadian Museum for Human Rights did not invent the technology\, our implementation is where transformation occurs. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is the first museum in Canada to bring this experience to the public\, embedding it into our human rights education mandate\, curating the experience for emotional resonance\, ensuring accessibility and contextualizing it as a living dialogue with memory. The approach turns a traditional gallery into an interactive learning space where dialogue drives understanding. Instead of passively listening\, students and visitors shape their own learning through their questions – an approach that nurtures curiosity\, agency and empathy. \nNow and far into the future\, museum‐goers\, students and others can have what feels like conversational interactions with eyewitnesses to history to get their point of view. \nThrough Dimensions in Testimony at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights\, visitors can engage with the stories of two Canadians who survived the Holocaust. Pinchas Gutter answers in English\, vividly recalling his time in Nazi concentration camps and what came next. Marguerite Élias Quddus answers in French\, sharing her story of surviving the Holocaust by hiding her Jewish identity. \nPurchase your ticket for a Dimensions in Testimony experience\, specially priced for Mb Tech Week 2026. Limited spaces available! \nPrices include full Museum access:\n• Adults: $16.50 (regular $22)\n• Youth (7-17 years): $7.50 (regular $10)\n• Seniors (65+): $12.75 (regular $17)\n• Indigenous Peoples: Always Free\n• Children (6 and under): Always Free
